Today in London!

I have to say that I am very pleased with the Brits response to the olympic torch going through London. Huge protest and bold attempts to take back the torch. They were incredible in the face of such tough police force. I hope that when the torch goes through Paris and San Francisco that we as world citizens are given the strength of character to do as the Brits and say no.

There was a man who had a t-shirt on that said "free tibet now play games later" couldn't have said it better.

China

Not that anyone is going to listen to little ole' me--but IF I was an athlete going to the beijing olympics I would say fuck that. China--needs to shape up. Human rights violations left and right. And since the olympics are supposed to be a world unifying feel good time--it would be just plain ignorant to host it in such a not (for lack of a better word) "feel-good place." It would be like having a world peace summit at efffing gitmo.

I think the most disturbing thing about the crisis in Tibet is the lack of foreign press allowed into Tibet to report on what is really going on. The only stories allowed out of there is supposed to come from the chinese "official" press. And you know how youtube.com has been blocked by china? I know this is loftly irrational thinking--the only right kind of thinking you know--but if I was a ceo of youtube I would totally bring it to the world's attention that the Chinese government is so concerned about hiding something that they blocked a world forum. And what does this indicate about their capabilities of hosting a world event.

Obama denounces his pastor...

News story clip here

I agree with that pastor man! Obama knows it's the truth! Well I hope he does...Basically this pastor (pastor Wright) says that America should've expected 9/11 after all the destruction we've created abroad. He cites the two nuclear bombs dropped on japan during ww2. That we killed "far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon, and we never batted an eye," which is true. "We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards. America's chickens are coming home to roost." Man I want to talk to this guy! Rev wright also went on to talk about the institutionalized racism we've got in place. "The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, God damn America, that's in the Bible for killing innocent people. God damn America for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America for as long as she acts like she is God and she is supreme."

sigh.

Now hold on here. damning America. that's 'dere fighting words. I'm fairly sure that Rev Wright also praises American values like-- freedom/liberty and equal rights--but is not stupid and can see them deteriorating right before our eyes.

sigh.

Obama you can have some integrity and not play politician. please.

Yeah I like Obama...

I like the idealist spirit he embodies for me. I know he's a politician and what not but if he truly is supposed to represent the people--hopefully the people that get him elected in office will hold him accountable for his promises.

I would like to know(since this is going to be an interactive blog) who you support and why--what qualities attract you to your choice and what you hope will come from their presidency.

maybe more later--peace!

Welcome to the lotus revolution.

So this will be the spot where I will post videos, opinions on articles, articles, and generally interesting things. It's called the Lotus Revolution--which is kind of redundant--because like the Lotus which is a symbol of recreation and revolution which is a radical call for change, I'm hoping this blog might draw an audience that will call for a change in America.

The wheels are turning!
